The Indigo team is pleased to announce release 2012.03.19.

For those not familiar with Indigo, its an open source project that supports OpenFlow on a range of physical switches (including Pronto and Netgear).  Indigo firmware is actively used in many campus deployments (at Stanford and several other schools), in at least one OpenFlow startup, a 20-switch conference network deployment and a 32-switch data center deployment.

If you want to get your hands dirty with OpenFlow, Indigo on a platform like Pronto is a great way to do it.  And of course, its well tested with the Floodlight controller.

So, what’s new?

• Use standard busybox initialization management. See March 2012 Indigo Initialization
• Continued improvement of management interface specification and configuration. See March 2012 Indigo Initialization
• Fixed issues related to HW and datapath description
• Addressed queuing bug (Indigo-125)
• Addressed VLAN processing bug (Indigo-91)
• Cleaned up and limited logging messages from various sources
• Enabled source and dest MAC rewrite for the Pronto 3780 platform
